This class extends the range of delicious gluten-free cakes that I would like to share with you, following the enormous popularity of my first ‘Gluten-free cakes’ class. I love it when family, friends and, of course, class participants tell me “you cannot tell that this is a gluten-free cake” - because that is what I strive for: to make scrumptious cakes - with or without gluten.

So, in this class, I will show you how you can make some of these cakes yourself! We will bake:

… two loaf cakes:
- an apricot, toasted almond & citrus loaf and
- an orange & poppy seed loaf

… and … I will also show you a glimpse of my pastry, which we will use as the basis for one of the following tartlets:
- plum tartlets with hazelnuts & cinnamon, or
- apple tartlets with cinnamon and lemon zest

We will start the class around our kitchen table, and I will take you through the recipes step-by-step, before you roll up your sleeves and get into it! The loaf cakes are super-moist, slice really well and also keep for days (if you can manage not to eat them all!). While gluten-free pastry is often considered to be ‘impossible’ to handle, I will give you some handy tips on how to make it ‘possible’.

We will finish off around the kitchen table with a bite to eat (a cheese and fruit platter), and you will also take one of each cake home, so you can share your creations with your family or friends.

Apart from being fun, the class is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence to replicate each recipe at home. We use utensils that are available in most home kitchens. I also keep classes small (with a maximum of 6 participants), so that there is plenty of opportunity for questions and one-on-one conversations to maximise your learning experience.

The duration of the class is approx. 4 hours. The class is suitable for beginners as well as those seeking to expand their repertoire.
