Following the success of my other gluten-free classes, in which we bake a diverse range of loaf cakes or pastry-based sweet tarts as well as different breads and rolls, and many requests for some gluten-free savoury options, here it is: a NEW class in which I show you how to make savoury pastry and yeast dough. We will use these to create a variety of delicious savoury tarts and pastry ‘pockets’ to provide some fabulous options for delicious gluten-free lunches or dinners. Savoury tarts are so versatile and can also easily be prepared in advance.
While gluten-free pastry is often considered ‘too difficult’, if not ‘impossible’ to do, I will provide you with lots of handy tips on how to make it ‘possible’. You will get lots of practice rolling out the pastry and dough, lining tins for tarts to create super-tasty tarts and veggie-filled pastry pockets.
Importantly, I would like you to come away feeling realising that gluten-free pastry is not as ‘scary’ as it is commonly thought to be and confident to start creating these at home.
We will start the class around our kitchen table, and I will take you through the recipes step-by-step, before you roll up your sleeves and get into it! We will finish off around the kitchen table, enjoying some of the creations together with a delicious salad. You will take home what you make in the class, so your family or friends can also enjoy a taste of your creations.
Apart from being fun, the class is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence to replicate each recipe at home. I keep classes small (with a maximum of 6 participants), so that there is plenty of opportunity for questions and one-on-one conversations to maximise your learning experience and benefit from my extensive nutrition knowledge.
The duration of the class is approx. 4 - 4 1/2 hours. The class is suitable for beginners as well as those seeking to expand their repertoire.
