Plum cakes
Cakes or pastry-based tarts with plums (or ‘Pflaumenkuchen’) are classic German cakes. They come in many different variations, and many regions in Germany offer their own specialties. So, this very popular class is devoted entirely to baking a variety of my favourite plum cakes and tarts.
These include:
- a ‘sunken’ plum cake
- plum tartlets with almond crumble
and
- a plum loaf with hazelnuts
Apart from being fun, the class is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence to replicate each recipe at home. The small class size (maximum of 6 participants) also ensures plenty of opportunity for questions and one-on-one conversations to maximise your learning experience.
We will start the class around our kitchen table, and I will take you through each recipe step-by-step, before you roll up your sleeves and get into it! We will finish off around the kitchen table with a bite to eat (a cheese and fruit platter), and you will also take one of each cake home.
The duration of the class is approx. 4 hours. The class is suitable for beginners as well as those seeking to expand their repertoire.
