Growing up in Germany, the weeks leading up to Christmas were a particularly exciting time. Beautiful smells of spices and nuts from the kitchen filled the house, and the freshly baked Kuchen, Stollen and cookies often proved irresistible. In this class, you will bake some of my family’s most loved items on the Christmas table, including:
- our award-winning Christmas Stollen
(with home-made marzipan)
and a range of Christmas cookies, e.g.
- ‘Spitzbuben’ (jam-filled double-layer cookies)
- almond or coconut clouds
- chocolate ‘bread’ or
- ‘Lebkuchen’, made with hazelnut and almond meal,
honey, eggs and spices

We will start the class around our kitchen table, and I will take you through the recipes step-by-step, before you roll up your sleeves and get weighing, mixing and baking! We will finish off with a bite to eat and you will also take one of each cake and samples of the cookies or Lebkuchen home, so you can share them with family and friends.

Apart from being fun, the class is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence to replicate each recipe at home. I also keep the classes small (with a maximum of 6 participants), so that there is plenty of opportunity for questions and conversations to maximise your learning and to benefit from my extensive nutrition knowledge, adding a further dimension to your experience.

The duration of the class is approx. 4 hours. The class is suitable for beginners as well as those seeking to expand their repertoire.
