‘Pretzels’

Pretzels (or, where I come from in the South of Germany, ‘Brezeln’) are a Southern German specialty, but are, of course, well known in many parts of the world. They are some of my favourite baked goods, and, growing up, the breakfast table on Saturday morning would not be complete without warm pretzels from the local bakery.

In this fun class, you will learn everything you need to know to start making your own pretzels at home. I will show you that it really is not difficult!

We will start the class around our kitchen table, and I will tell you a little bit about the history and regional differences of pretzels. You will then have plenty of opportunity to practise pretzel shaping and make your own pretzels. We will also make pretzel dough, so that you are equipped to make your own at home. We will finish the class around the kitchen table sampling the pretzels, and you will also take home the dough you made as well as your pretzels, so you can share them with family and friends.

Apart from being fun, the class is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence to make pretzels at home. Due to the small class size (with a maximum of 6 participants), there is plenty of opportunity for questions to maximise your learning.

The duration of the class is approx. 2.5 - 3 hours. The class is suitable for beginners as well as those seeking to expand their repertoire.


Please, bring any dietary requirements to our attention at the time of booking. Late notifications may not be able to be accommodated on the day of the class.
